Welcome! To my History 1120: Introduction to Pre-Confederation Canadian History e Portfolio. Here I will explore and reflect on the various concepts that were taught and learned as well as what it means to “do history”.
I will begin by reviewing what “Learning to do History” meant to me at the start of the semester versus how it has change through my learning and understanding of exactly what that means. I will also explore what history is to me as well. Next I will reflect on how my views and opinions have changed or garnered further understanding by looking into biases and various lenses in “Reflections on the Past”. I will post my research around the Metis people of the nineteenth century, which discusses how racial attitudes, discrimination and politics have shaped a nation of people. I will also post my analysis of “The Declaration of the People of Rupert’s Land and the North-West” in “Document Analysis” tab. Some seminar discussions and reading logs I have done will be posted under the “Course Work” tab as well.
Under the “Sources” tab I will include various sources I have used throughout my research that helped further my understanding of the issues faced among the Metis. It will also include sources for the pictures I used, and for any sources I discuss for our seminar sessions. Also I will post videos, or other interesting sources relevant to my studies in this course. These will be things I found helpful, or entertaining to watch and listen to.
Welcome to my ePortfolio, please enjoy!
